Application Scientist - Biofuels

Welcome to our MEIA Technical Services and Innovation team for Bioenergy and Distilling

You will become part of our Bioenergy Innovation team, collaborating closely with our colleagues in Sales & Marketing to provide world class scientific and technical support to deploy innovative solutions to our customers in Bioenergy and Distilling space.

We are looking for a highly motivated Application Scientist to be a key part of the Biofuels Innovation team. In this role, you will help grow our MEIA Bioenergy business by supporting global and regional launches of new innovative yeast and enzyme solutions, end to end from Lab scale Proof of Concept to Plant scale Proof of Application. In This Role You’ll Make An Impact By

Collaborating with our customers to realize the implementation of new bio-solutions like new generation of Yeast and Enzymes, that pushes the boundary of ethanol plant performance in terms of yield, byproducts value addition and plant efficiencies. Working alongside ITS colleagues and Account managers, you will play a pivotal role in comprehending customer needs and processes to deliver world class innovation relevant for the region. This role offers the chance to enhance your expertise in novel technologies and expand your industry network while making a meaningful impact on the organization and those around you with your valuable insights.

To Succeed You Must Hold

Strong scientific skills based on a university degree in Chemistry, Chemical / Industrial / Biotech / Bioprocess Engineering or related.

M.Sc. or Ph.D degree is a clear asset, but not essential

Relevant experience in Bioenergy, corn-ethanol or cellulosic ethanol (E2G) industry. Experience within enzyme and yeast applications in Bioenergy

Knowledge of lab scale fermentation protocols and experience in plant scale fermentation

Experience with design of experiments (DOE) analyzing data and a basic understanding of programming to develop Proof of Concepts

Ability to translate technical insights and data into customer-relatable values

Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and internal stakeholders

Willingness to work in industrial scale and field based environment for demonstrating Proof of Applications

A flair for providing technical training – internally as well as externally

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi

Ability to travel extensively, mainly within MEIA region
