JOB SUMMARY
The Information Systems Department is dedicated to making information quickly and easily available to facilitate health care providers in giving the highest quality care. As a part of the Information Services team, the Application Analyst supports assigned software systems or applications. The Application Analyst will be assigned to, and expected to maintain and apply his/her knowledge of the following software applications or systems: Cerner Electronic Medical Record, Infor ERP and HCM, as well as ancillary applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Monitors effectiveness of the assigned systems and/or applications.
- Changes and enhances assigned systems including coordination improvements and system upgrades.
- Aids in the support of all systems where knowledge base may be utilized, as requested or needed.
- Assists in research, design, development, and implementation of new information systems as requested.
- Builds reports and/or assists users to create custom reports in assigned applications.
- Maintains the training and test systems in assigned applications.
- Shares knowledge of assigned applications with users and with IS department personnel.
- Provide Tier II/III technical support per request from various sources; investigate and troubleshoot issues.
- Coordinates successful project completion in a timely manner.
- Coordinates interface communications between various IS staff and vendors during assigned project implementation.
- Takes IT on-call duties for systems in use at SMH as scheduled or requested. This call includes nights, weekends, holidays, and during implementation and upgrades.
- Serves as primary contact for vendors during implementation and ongoing operations of assigned applications and/ or systems.
- Conducts and attends regular meetings with project coordinators, IS staff, or staff of other SMH disciplines involved in system projects.
- Resolves issues that are assigned by the IT Help Desk.
- Under direct supervision, analyzes business processes to determine potential needs and works with internal customers to identify changes or improvements to the functionality and efficiency of these processes.
- Suggests and implements improvements in applications and/or systems to management.
- Participates in house-wide committees and committee projects as requested.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience / License and Certifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), required.
- Associate’s Degree in Information technology, Business, Communications or related field, preferred.
- 0 - 2 years of experience analyzing and evaluating business/processes, preferred.
