Applications Management Director

Job Purpose

Direct the development, maintenance, and continuous refinement of applications that support key business functions across DAMMAM AIRPORTS by overseeing the management of aviation, enterprise application, support applications portfolios and system integrations, identifying improvement opportunities, and managing system integration to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.

Position Accountability Description

Strategic Leadership:

1. Develop and lead the implementation a comprehensive applications management strategy for DAMMAM AIRPORTS , ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
2. Drive initiatives to optimize the lifecycle management of aviation applications, enterprise applications, support applications and system integrations enhancing operational efficiency and support for DAMMAM AIRPORTS 's long-term objectives.
3. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of applications management practices, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with DAMMAM AIRPORTS ’s strategic goals.

Operational Excellence:

1. Oversee the building, procurement, integration, maintenance, and upgrade of aviation applications, ensuring they meet DAMMAM AIRPORTS 's architectural standards and operational needs.
2. Manage the optimization of resource utilization by eliminating redundant or outdated systems and ensuring compliance with system standards and applicable regulations.
3. Lead the implementation of rigorous testing, deployment, and maintenance processes to guarantee the high-quality performance and reliability of all aviation applications.
4. Ensure the alignment and integration of applications across projects, fostering consistency and seamless operation within DAMMAM AIRPORTS ’s enterprise architecture.
5. Manage quality control programs to identify and rectify software defects, ensuring sustained high performance and meeting business continuity requirements.
6. Oversee the continuous monitoring and evaluation of both internal and third-party applications to ensure compliance with DAMMAM AIRPORTS ’s standards and business requirements.
7. Oversee the contracts and performance of third-party vendors performing the operation and maintenance of company applications.

Stakeholder Management:

1. Develop and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders, including vendors, internal departments, and external partners, to ensure the successful management of aviation applications.
2. Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts and secure optimal solutions for DAMMAM AIRPORTS ’s applications needs, driving continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
3. Ensure the alignment of applications management activities with DAMMAM AIRPORTS 's overall strategic goals by collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather the necessary resources and information.

Team Leadership and Development:

1. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing applications management team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
2. Set clear performance expectations for team members, providing regular feedback and support to encourage growth and development.
3. Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the applications management team, ensuring they are equipped to handle evolving industry challenges.

Financial Management:

1. Manage the budget allocated for applications management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation to maximize return on investment.
2. Monitor the financial performance of applications management initiatives, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing measures to achieve financial targets.
3. Supervise financial planning within the department, tracking expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines and financial targets.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

1. Drive innovation in applications management by adopting new technologies and best practices, ensuring DAMMAM AIRPORTS remains at the forefront of industry advancements.
2. Continuously assess and improve applications management processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with DAMMAM AIRPORTS ’s strategic objectives.
3. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team, actively seeking and implementing feedback and ideas for process enhancements.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education Background: Bachelor’s degree: Software Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.

Relevant Experience : Minimum 12 years of total experience in applications management preferred in aviation applications management, including 5 years in a senior management role.
