We create magical mixed-reality experiences for hundreds of millions of users, using computer vision, neural networks, graphics, and computational photography. Last year we launched IKEA Kreativ, and are actively preparing our next-generation suite of Kreativ upgrades!
We are seeking a Computer Vision Research Intern, specializing in Deep Learning, to help push the envelope of Indoor 3D Vision & Scene Understanding. During this internship, you will work on high-impact projects spanning areas like depth estimation, segmentation, generative AI, inverse rendering, and 3D reconstruction. The projects are designed to be adventurous but well-scoped for 3–6+ months, with clear objectives and opportunities for publication. Your work will directly shape future Geomagical product capabilities and reach millions of users worldwide. We are looking for highly-motivated & creative individuals with entrepreneurial drive.
Requirements

Ph.D. or Master's student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong foundations in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, with experience in one or more of: Depth Estimation, Semantic Segmentation, Vision Transformers, 3D Reconstruction, Inverse Rendering and Generative AI for images/videos.
- Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with PyTorch (or similar ML frameworks).
- Ability to turn research papers and open-source projects into advanced proof-of-concepts.
- Experience in preparing datasets, designing experiments, and building evaluation pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: self-driven, adventurous, comfortable with uncertainty, and motivated to make ideas work end-to-end in real-world settings.

- The USA salary for this internship position ranges from $8,500 to $10,500 a month, which is the equivalent of approximately $51 to $63 an hour. Salary is to be determined by location, role, skill, and experience level.
