Apprentice Automotive Wiring Technician – Propane Bobtails

We are hiring an Apprentice Automotive Wiring Technician to assist with electrical work on propane bobtails and commercial trucks. Candidates must bring formal electrical training and be ready to apply those skills in a hands‑on shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Support 12V/24V wiring, harness routing, and proper circuit termination.
• Install and troubleshoot PTO controls, lights, strobes, shutdown circuits, sensors, and metering components.
• Read wiring diagrams and perform basic diagnostics with a multimeter.
• Route wiring and air lines neatly within truck frame, in cab and at firewall.
• Follow DOT and NFPA 58 safety procedures.

Requirements

• Formal electrical training (trade school, vocational program, military, or equivalent).
• Hands‑on experience with automotive, equipment, or industrial wiring.
• Ability to identify wires, connectors, and basic circuits.
• Skilled with crimping, soldering, and proper termination practices.
• Comfortable working around commercial vehicles; training provided.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 40 Hours per week with overtime required if needed to meet deadlines.

Preferred

• Experience with medium‑duty trucks or vocational upfitting.
• Familiarity with relays, switches, and 12V logic.

Work Environment

• Work includes routing harnesses under trucks, accessing confined areas, and performing electrical tasks in hot shop or outdoor conditions, especially during peak season.
• Position requires the ability to crawl under vehicles, work in confined spaces, bend, kneel, and perform tasks in hot or uncomfortable conditions for extended period.
• Position includes handling equipment and parts; applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs safely.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
