Apprentice - Electrical Panel Builder/Electrician
Background:
· Kane Engineering’s primary business activity is the design & manufacture/ assembly of low voltage electrical switchboards & control panels. The company’s products are supplied into the construction sector throughout the UK & Ireland.
Main duties:
· Assembly of Low voltage switchgear - Modular steelwork, mounting plates, doors & covers.
· Assembly & installation of busbars (including cutting, bending & punching of copper bar)
· Installation & wiring of electrical power components (circuit breakers & fuse-switches)
· Electrical connection of components using solid copper busbar, flexible laminated busbar, and cable.
· Installation & wiring of control equipment into switchboards (e.g. contactors, relays, timers & meters)
· Associated activities including drilling and fixing of shrouding & engraved labels, preparing panels for factory-test & wrapping for despatch to customer.
Employee requirements:
Essential:
· Minimum grade ‘C’ in GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent attainment)
Hours of work: Total 39 hours per week.
Monday-Thursday 8.00am - 5.00pm
Friday 8.00am - 1.00pm
(Lunch-time - 30mins 1.00-1.30pm)
Holiday entitlement: 29 days per year, inclusive of statutory days.
