We are seeking an Electrician Apprentice II to join our team. The Electrician Apprentice II continues to develop electrical trade skills, building upon foundational knowledge acquired in the first year. Under the supervision of a journeyman electrician, this role focuses on increasing proficiency in electrical installations, troubleshooting, and conduit work while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Identifies and organizes basic materials commonly used in the electrical trade.
Gains experience in underground installations, including cutting, heating, bending, and gluing PVC.
Participates in rough-in electrical installations to develop hands-on proficiency.
Enhances foundational skills in hand bending EMT, performing basic bends on various conduit sizes.
Supports journeyman electricians with a variety of tasks as needed.
Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings under supervision.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment while following all safety protocols and regulations.
Adheres to company tool policies and demonstrates initiative in investing in and maintaining necessary trade tools.
Minimum:
High school diploma or GED.
One (1) year of prior experience in commercial electrical installation.
Enrollment in or willingness to join an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
Familiarity with rough-in installations and underground electrical work.
Proficiency in basic material identification and handling.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under supervision.
Commitment to learning and a proactive approach to acquiring new skills.
OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis or vice versa.
Knowledge of electrical components, materials, and basic electrical codes.
Knowledge of proper conduit bending techniques, underground installation methods, and electrical safety standards.
Skill in using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and support installations with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and construction documents.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members while developing independent problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift and transport heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
