Overview
We are seeking an apprentice Meat Cutter to join our team in a dynamic food production environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the culinary arts and experience in the food industry, particularly in meat preparation. This role requires proficiency in knife skills, food handling, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety. As a Meat Cutter, you will play a crucial role in providing quality products to our customers while ensuring an exceptional level of service.
Duties
- Help customers on the meat counter.
- Learn to Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specifications and customer requests.
- Make products to fill the meat case.
- Ensure all meat products are handled safely and stored properly to maintain freshness and quality.
- Package meat products for display or sale, ensuring attractive presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cutting area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to fulfill orders efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with their selections.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as necessary.
- Culinary training or certification is a plus but not required.
- 18 years or older, legal age required to operate machinery needed to complete tasks.
