Apprentice Mechanic
Wiman Corporation in Sauk Rapids, MN is growing and we need help for our Maintenance team. We can hire an Apprentice Mechanic to start learning more or we can take in a Lead Mechanic that already shows many skills as a manufacturing mechanic. Job history and skills will determine where you are placed if offered a position. At Wiman Corporation you will learn how to maintain and repair equipment used in the plastics extrusion manufacturing process. Working under experienced mechanics, this role provides hands-on training in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and safe equipment operation.
Pay and title is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic maintenance and repairs on extrusion lines, grinders, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
- Learn to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Help perform routine inspections and lubrication to keep machines running smoothly.
- Support production teams during machine setups and changeovers.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
