AQUATIC AND ICE MAINTENANCE WORKER

Job Summary: Assist in daily operations to ensure recreational facilities, including aquatic centers and ice rinks, are meticulously prepared and maintained, creating welcoming spaces for the community to enjoy and thrive in. May be assigned to one or more of the following locations: Roosevelt Swim Center, Roosevelt Ice Arena, and the City’s outdoor aquatic facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Custodial duties including, but not limited to, cleaning, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, glass cleaning, power washing, product replenishment, trash removal, etc.
• Landscaping duties including, but not limited to, mowing, shrub trimming, string line trimming, weeding, raking, etc.
• Snow removal from walkways, driveways, and parking areas, including spreading ice melt as needed.
• Set up and tear down various events.
• May have opportunity to operate a variety of equipment such as ice resurfacing equipment, skate sharpener, hand tools, floor scrubbers, pool vacuum, and possibly more.
• May be required to test water for chemicals and other pool cleaning tasks.
• May assist with minor repairs, building maintenance tasks, and painting.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
· Must be age 16 years or older.
· Previous similar experience preferred, but not necessary as training is available.

Work Environment:
This position requires employees to walk frequently, lift, bend, and stand for extended periods of time. Must have ability to safely climb ladders and stairs. Employees may experience conditions of extreme cold, significant noise levels, and high temperatures.
