Aquatic Maintenance Technician

The core purpose of this position is to ensure that the company's clients are serviced following the highest standard of quality while maximizing efficiency and productivity while upholding the regulations for treating ponds and lakes. This role is integral to the smooth and profitable execution of work performed by Dragonfly Pond Works.

Location: Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

Pay: $22 - $28 hourly.

Requirements

  • Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License or be able to obtain a license within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience in lake and pond management, pest/herbicide control or surveying is preferred.
  • Experience in the following disciplines are desirable: fisheries, wildlife management, conservation, ecology, biology, environmental sciences or forestry.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Able to swim and comfortable around water.
  • Ability to lift 80 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Basic math skills to calculate product applications.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the maintenance of lakes and ponds and associated stormwater systems. This will include - but is not limited to:

  • Identify and treat invasive weeds
  • Trash removal
  • Visual inspection of stormwater components
  • String trimming/limbing as needed
  • Improving the overall aesthetics of the sites
  • Aeration/fountain diagnostic
  • Minor repairs for compliance
  • Implement safety training for field staff
  • Handle administrative duties
