AR / AP Payroll and Billing Specialist

Position Overview

Express Concrete Breaking & Cutting is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Payroll and Billing Specialist to support our growing accounting team. This role is critical in maintaining healthy cash flow by ensuring timely collections, accurate payment application, and clear communication with customers.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and confident managing multiple accounts while building strong relationships with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts receivable operations, including invoicing, payment tracking, and collections
• Monitor aging reports and follow up consistently on past-due accounts
• Communicate professionally with customers to resolve payment issues, discrepancies, or billing questions
• Accurately post and apply payments (checks, ACH, EFT, and credit cards)
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of:
• Customer balances
• Payment history
• Credits and adjustments
• Assist with reconciliation of accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Support the billing team with invoice verification and documentation as needed
• Help maintain organized customer files and financial records
• Process credit applications and assist in setting up new customer accounts

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project billing and payment flow

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Collections experience
• Payroll experience
• Construction or service-based industry experience
• Strong understanding of AR processes, collections, and payment reconciliation
• Experience with:
• QuickBooks Online
• Deposits
• Microsoft Excel
• Payment processing systems
• Familiarity with customer portals and payment platforms is a plus
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
