Dental AR/Insurance Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced dental AR/insurance specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for managing accounts receivable, insurance claims processing, payment posting, and resolving outstanding insurance balances. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate billing, timely follow-up, and maximum reimbursement while maintaining excellent communication with patients and insurance providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Submit and track dental insurance claims electronically and manually

  • Follow up on unpaid, denied, or delayed claims

  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and resolve discrepancies

  • Post insurance and patient payments accurately

  • Work AR aging reports and maintain collection goals

  • Appeal denied or underpaid claims

  • Verify insurance benefits and coverage when needed

  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and corrections

  • Coordinate with front office staff regarding patient balances and treatment plans

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policies

  • Maintain accurate patient financial records

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of dental insurance billing and AR experience (preferred)

  • Strong understanding of PPO, Medicaid, and other dental insurance plans

  • Knowledge of CDT coding and dental terminology

  • Experience working with dental practice management software

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Professional communication with patients and insurance representatives

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Guaranteed Hourly Rate $18-$24 depending on experience
