Burson is seeking a talented Arabic Editor to join our Government & Public Affairs team in Abu Dhabi, supporting a prestigious UAE Government client. This role is critical to ensuring the highest quality of Arabic language content across all communications materials, requiring exceptional linguistic precision, cultural sensitivity, and an understanding of government communications standards. As part of our dynamic team, you will work at the intersection of language excellence and strategic communications, helping to deliver impactful messaging that resonates with Arabic-speaking audiences across the region. You will play a vital role in adapting, localizing, and originating content that meets the exacting standards expected in government communications.

What you'll do:

  • Translate and adapt communications materials from English to Arabic, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and alignment with government communication standards
  • Originate high-quality Arabic content based on briefs or English language drafts, maintaining consistency in tone, style, and messaging
  • Edit and proofread diverse content formats including press releases, reports, presentations, digital content, and corporate communications materials
  • Provide expert counsel to account teams and clients on the Arabisation and localization of collateral to ensure maximum impact with target audiences
  • Collaborate with writers, strategists, and creative teams to enhance content quality and ensure cultural nuances are appropriately reflected
  • Review daily news publications and monitor current affairs to ensure content is timely, relevant, and aligned with the regional context
  • Ensure all Arabic content complies with UAE government communication guidelines, media standards, and brand voice requirements
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality across all deliverable

Experience that contributes to success:

  • Native-level proficiency in Arabic with exceptional command of Modern Standard Arabic and understanding of regional dialects and cultural nuances
  • Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language, Journalism, Communications, Media, or a related field
  • Solid experience in creating Arabic content, editing, translation, or localization, preferably within a communications agency, media organization, or government sector
  • Strong English language skills with the ability to understand and adapt complex English content into compelling Arabic
  • Demonstrated experience working on government, corporate, or institutional communications projects
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to maintain consistency in terminology, style, and brand voice across multiple projects
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for learning, developing skills, and contributing to a high-performing team environment
