Job Overview
An AR/AP Clerk manages a company's financial transactions by processing incoming customer payments (receivable) and outgoing vendor payments (payable). Key responsibilities include invoicing, reconciling accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, and maintaining accurate general ledger records. This role requires 1–3 years of experience, proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), and high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (AP): Review, code, and process vendor invoices; reconcile vendor statements.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and send customer invoices; follow up on A/R aging to ensure on time payments.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile bank statements and GL accounts; assist with month-end closing activities and audit documentation.
- Communication/Data/Problem Solving: Ability to work independently, analyze situations, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Must communicate clearly with the Financial Controller and CFO, as well as with vendors and customers, to ensure accurate records. Strong independent problem-solving skills are essential.
- Compliance & Data: Ensure all transactions adhere to internal financial controls and process a three-way match system. A three-way match system is an internal control process that validates supplier invoices by comparing them against the Purchase Order and Receiving Report before payment.
- Must have the ability to work independently, analyze situations, identify root causes, and problem solve. Communication with the Financial Controller and CFO is a must.
- Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma; associate degree or certification in accounting/finance is preferred.
- Experience: 2–4 years in an accounting support or clerical role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel) and accounting software like QuickBooks, E2 Job boss, or SAP.
- Soft Skills: Strong data entry skills, high attention to detail, organizational abilities, and professional communication skills
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
