Architect cum Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Architect cum Estimator with strong expertise in interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing design concepts, preparing detailed drawings, coordinating with suppliers/contractors, and accurately estimating project costs. This role requires a blend of creative design skills and technical knowledge of materials, BOQs, and site execution.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural & Design Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts, layouts, and space planning for residential and commercial projects.
• Prepare detailed drawings, 2D plans, sections, elevations, and 3D visualizations.
• Ensure all designs comply with building codes, authority regulations, and project standards.
• Coordinate with the project team to ensure the design intent is executed on-site.
• Select appropriate materials, finishes, and specifications based on project requirements and budget.
• Conduct site visits to verify measurements, monitor progress, and resolve design-related issues.

Estimation & Costing Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate BOQs, material take-offs, and cost estimates for interior fit-out works.
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope and pricing.
• Request, compare, and analyze supplier/ subcontractor quotations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Prepare and submit cost proposals, tender packages, and technical submittals.
• Work closely with procurement and project teams for material selection and price finalization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture /Interior Design/ B.E Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 2-3years of experience in interior fit-out (residential, commercial, retail, or hospitality).
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, or similar design software.
• Excellent understanding of interior materials, joinery, MEP coordination, and execution details.
• Proven experience in estimation, cost analysis, and BOQ preparation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in UAE authority approvals (Dubai Municipality, DDA, etc.).
• Knowledge of joinery works and custom fabrication.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools.
• Experience in client presentations and project coordination.
