Hiring: Design Manager (Architect Design and Build Manager)

Location: UAE

We're seeking a seasoned Design and Build Manager to lead the full design lifecycle-from concept to construction-ensuring seamless integration of architectural, MEP, and sustainability elements. This role is pivotal in aligning design, procurement, and construction teams to deliver high quality, cost effective, and regulation compliant projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Design and Planning and the Construction Manager in the identification and management of project risks, producing registers and schedules for projects under their management.
• Excellent design knowledge of commercial / medium density projects, working for a reputable main contractor.
• Experience gained in a design management related position on design and build projects.
• Manage the production of specialist design - both material & sub contract.
• Manage the M&E design process, seeking technical approval.
• Lead design development from pre planning to project completion.
• Manage consultants, design approvals, and client coordination.
• Oversee MEP integration, Room Data Sheets, and specialist design packages.
• Define procurement strategy for materials and services.
• Ensure compliance with BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes, and building regulations.
• Control drawing distribution, design sign off, and document management.
• Support cost alignment with estimators and surveyors.
• Drive planning approvals and building control coordination.
• Deliver monthly reports and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of commercial/timber frame construction.
• Skilled in managing consultants and statutory approvals.
• Familiarity with Workspace DMS, planning processes, and building codes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
• Commercial acumen and cost control awareness.

Technical Skills

BIM Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, MS Projects + MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), Internet applications; expertise in local construction codes; well versed of health and safety regulations.
