Job Summary:
The Architectural BIM Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating Building Information Models (BIM) for architectural works in high-rise building projects. The role involves ensuring design accuracy, coordination between disciplines, compliance with project standards, and supporting the construction team with precise and up-to-date model information.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage 3D architectural BIM models in Revit or other BIM-authorized software.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and interior design teams to ensure clash-free and fully integrated models.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent to create accurate BIM models.
- Prepare shop drawings, coordinated drawings, and as-built models in compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings with design consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct clash detection and coordination using Navisworks or similar tools, resolving design conflicts proactively.
- Maintain and update the BIM model throughout the project lifecycle to reflect site progress and design changes.
- Generate quantity take-offs (QTOs) and assist the cost control team with material estimation.
- Ensure all BIM deliverables comply with project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and company standards.
- Collaborate with the site team to resolve discrepancies between model and on-site execution.
- Develop families, templates, and parametric components as per project specifications.
- Support digital documentation, visualization, and presentation of design concepts.
- Manage version control and ensure data integrity of BIM models and drawings.
- Conduct quality checks on BIM data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in developing and maintaining BIM libraries for architectural elements and details.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site engineers, architects, and draftsmen on BIM-related issues.
- Prepare 2D/3D visualizations and renderings to support design presentations.
- Work closely with BIM Manager to implement BIM workflows and digital construction strategies.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, codes, and client standards.
- Stay updated with emerging BIM technologies, software tools, and best practices for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience, preferably in high-rise building projects.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Dynamo, and BIM 360 (or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and architectural detailing.
- Experience in clash detection, coordination, and BIM documentation.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to high-quality work.
