Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated Architectural Designer/ Job Captain to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the development and execution of architectural projects, collaborating closely with engineers and designers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality designs. This position requires a strong foundation in architectural principles, proficiency in various design software, and the ability to manage project timelines effectively.

Duties

Designer

  • Develop and prepare architectural designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches and specifications
  • Create 3-dimensional BIM models for use by various personnel and teams
  • Communicating with Job Captains, Project Managers and Senior Project Managers and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings
  • Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team
  • Efficiently operate computer-assisted design and drafting workstations
  • Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets based on current project and team needs
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
  • Maintain a positive image of William Starck Architects, Inc. at all times

Job Captain

  • Responsibilities of a Designer
  • Begin to analyze design requirements proposing revisions as appropriate.
  • Ability to Work independently with direction from the PM and as part of a team
  • Consistently exercise discretion and good judgement
  • Knowledge of building codes
  • Some responsibility for delegation of work and mentoring of Designer staff with regard to architectural interpretation and CAD/Revit office standards and practices
  • General understanding of project budget and schedule
  • Maintain organized project files
  • Some interaction with clients, consultants and contractors
  • Maintain a positive image of William Starck Architects, Inc. at all times

Skills

  • Proficiency in architectural design software including AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong understanding of drafting techniques, construction methods, and building codes.
  • Experience in creating schematics and system designs for various types of projects.
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles and tools for effective presentation materials.
  • Knowledge of interior design concepts and mechanical design principles is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
