Architectural Draftsman with Consultancy Experience

Senior Draftsman (Consultancy) – Roles & Responsibilities

Experience: 10+ Years

1. Design & Drafting Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural, structural, and MEP drawings in accordance with project specifications, local authority regulations, and consultant standards.
• Develop concept, schematic, detailed design, IFC, and as-built drawings.
• Interpret design sketches, calculations, and specifications provided by architects and engineers.
• Ensure drawings comply with UAE codes, authority requirements, and international standards.

2. Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure accuracy and constructability of drawings.
• Resolve clashes and discrepancies between architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Attend coordination meetings and provide technical drafting support.

3. Authority Submissions

• Prepare drawings for authority approvals (DM, DDA, Trakhees, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
• Incorporate authority comments and revise drawings accordingly.
• Ensure all submissions meet formatting and technical compliance requirements.

4. Site Support

• Provide shop drawing review support and respond to site queries (RFIs).
• Update drawings based on site conditions, variations, and design changes.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction compliance with drawings.

5. Quality Control & Documentation

• Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all drawings.
• Review junior draftsmen’s work and ensure adherence to office drafting standards.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and document control procedures.

6. Software & Technical Skills

• Expert in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of Revit, BIM, and Navisworks (where applicable).
• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings, sections, elevations, and details.
• Coordinate BIM models and extract drawings as required.

7. Mentoring & Leadership

• Guide and train junior draftsmen on drafting standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Allocate drafting tasks and monitor progress to meet project deadlines.
• Support the design team with technical solutions and drawing optimization.

8. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure drawings follow consultant QA/QC procedures.
• Stay updated with latest codes, standards, and authority regulations.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of project documents.

9. Time Management & Delivery

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Coordinate priorities with project managers and design leads.
• Deliver accurate drawings within agreed timelines and budgets.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
