Architectural Modeling and Visualization Designer

Job Title: Architectural Modeling & Visualization Designer

We are a residential design-build firm with a fully integrated architectural and interior design team. This position is a key role within our design group, focused on elevating how we communicate design through advanced 3D modeling and visualization.

While Revit proficiency and the ability to assist with construction drawings are required, the primary focus of this role is to take ownership of our 3D visualization process; creating models, renderings, and walk-throughs that clearly communicate design intent to our clients.

Position Overview

This role bridges architecture and interior design, supporting the full project lifecycle from early concept through construction. The primary responsibility is to develop detailed 3D models and transform them into high-quality visual deliverables including renderings, panoramas, and video walk-throughs.

You will work closely with both the architectural and interior design teams to translate ideas, selections, and client preferences into compelling visual representations. Early-phase models will be conceptual but directly tied to Revit-based building elements, evolving into highly detailed models as projects progress into interior design and construction documentation.

We are looking for someone who is design-minded, highly visual, and capable of contributing ideas. This role is expected to take ownership of all 3D visualization tools, workflows, and deliverables across the firm.

Team Environment

Our studio is highly collaborative from initial design through construction. Team members are expected to actively participate in:

  • Weekly team meetings
  • Internal project reviews
  • Client meetings
  • Field/site visits

We value a strong team dynamic, open communication, and continuous learning. We encourage team members to expand their knowledge across architecture, interior design, and construction, and to bring new ideas, tools, and technologies into our process.

We actively explore emerging visualization methods, including VR (Oculus) and 3D printing, and expect this role to both contribute to and expand these capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models in Revit for residential projects
  • Produce high-quality renderings, panoramas, and video walk-throughs
  • Take ownership of all 3D visualization deliverables across projects
  • Collaborate with architectural and interior design teams to refine and present designs
  • Translate client preferences, material selections, and design intent into visual outputs
  • Assist in producing construction drawings (plans, elevations, details) as needed
  • Support schematic design and design development deliverables
  • Create presentation materials including renderings, diagrams, and visual boards
  • Assist interior design team with mood boards, tile layouts, and selection visuals
  • Conduct site visits for measurements, documentation, and construction coordination
  • Maintain and expand internal libraries for textures, furniture, and 3D assets
  • Assist with 3D printing and VR model preparation
  • Research new tools, materials, and visualization techniques to enhance the design process

  • Minimum 3 years of architectural visualization experience (Lumion, Twinmotion, Enscape, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in residential architectural design

Core Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong ability to create fully developed 3D models with site context, materials, lighting, furniture, and detailing
  • Ability to produce high-quality renderings, panoramas, and animated walk-throughs
  • Experience sourcing and managing digital assets (textures, furniture, décor) and building internal libraries
  • Ability to work across both design visualization and technical documentation
  • Strong design sensibility, including materiality, composition, and spatial awareness
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a team environment
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of responsibilities
