Fahed + Architects is an award-winning, design-led architectural practice with studios in Dubai, Kochi, and Bali. Our work explores materiality, craft, and spatial experience through a deeply hands-on design process.

We are looking for a Model Maker & Fabrication Specialist to join our Dubai studio and contribute to the physical making side of architecture — from concept models to detailed presentation pieces and experimental prototypes.

Role Overview

This role sits at the intersection of design, craft, and fabrication.

You will work closely with the design team to translate architectural ideas into physical models, while also exploring new fabrication methods including digital tools and 3D printing.

Key ResponsibilitiesModel Making & Prototyping

• Build high-quality architectural models at various scales:
• Concept models
• Working models
• Presentation models
• Interpret drawings, sketches, and 3D files into physical form
• Explore different materials
• Any knowledge is digital fabrication would be an advantage

Who We’re Looking For

• Background in:
• Architecture / Industrial Design / Model Making / Product Design
• 2–6 years of relevant experience (flexible if highly skilled)
• Strong hands-on skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read drawings and understand spatial intent
• Experience with tools such as:
• Rhino / AutoCAD / basic 3D workflows
• Familiarity with:
• Laser cutting / 3D printing (preferred)

Digital Fabrication

• Operate and manage:
• Laser cutting
• 3D printing (including clay / experimental if possible)
• Prepare files for fabrication from Rhino / CAD

What Will Set You Apart

• Passion for making and materials
• Interest in experimental fabrication (clay, robotic, etc.)
• Ability to work both independently and with designers
• A portfolio showing built models (not just renders)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
