POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an A&D Consultant to build strong, consultative relationships within architecture and design firms and drive product specification on commercial projects. This role focuses on early engagement with design teams, deep product knowledge, and strategic account development to grow specification volume within targeted firms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and maintain strong relationships with architecture and design (A&D) firms to identify, develop, and secure product specifications on commercial projects.

Strengthen existing partnerships and cultivate new relationships, positioning yourself as a trusted consultant and long-term resource for architects and designers.

Engage regularly with design teams to support product selection and specification throughout the project lifecycle.

Take a consultative approach to understanding client goals, project requirements, and technical considerations in order to recommend the best solutions.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless support from early project engagement through final delivery.

Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of specification opportunities within assigned accounts.

Deliver compelling product presentations that address design trends, client challenges, and technical requirements.

Clearly communicate the company’s value proposition, product differentiation, and competitive advantages.

Independently lead Continuing Education Unit (CEU) presentations for the A&D community.

Partner with internal product and sourcing teams to identify and recommend solutions that meet project needs.

Continuously build expertise in products, technical applications, and industry trends.

Promote the company’s design services as part of the overall client value proposition.

Utilize CRM tools to track opportunities, manage account activity, and maintain clear communication across internal teams.

Introduce new products, tools, and promotions to the A&D community, reinforcing the company’s leadership in design and materials.

Stay informed on emerging design trends, product innovations, and market developments.

Develop strategic account plans to identify growth opportunities and strengthen relationships with key firms.

Actively participate in industry events and networking opportunities to expand brand awareness and relationships within the design community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

3–7 years of experience in interior design, architecture, A&D consulting, building materials, or consultative sales within the commercial design industry.

Experience working with or within architecture and design firms and familiarity with the commercial project lifecycle.

Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to become a trusted advisor to architects and designers.

Excellent presentation and communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging product presentations and CEU sessions.

Demonstrated ability to influence product specifications or support design decisions on commercial projects.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, opportunities, and client relationships simultaneously.

Comfortable using CRM systems (such as Salesforce) to manage accounts, track opportunities, and support collaboration across teams.

Curiosity and enthusiasm for design, materials, and industry trends.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Candidates with backgrounds in interior design or architecture who enjoy relationship building and client consulting are strongly encouraged to apply.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
