A rapidly growing medical device innovator in the neurovascular space is seeking an experienced Area Sales Director to drive territory growth, strengthen physician relationships, and support the expansion of breakthrough vascular access technologies used in stroke intervention procedures.

This organization develops advanced solutions for clinicians treating time-sensitive neurovascular emergencies and is positioned for significant growth with an experienced leadership team and expanding product portfolio.


The ideal candidate is a high-performing medical device sales professional with existing relationships in the neurovascular/interventional space, a proven history of quota achievement, and the ability to support clinical cases while successfully launching new products.

The Opportunity


The Area Sales Director will leverage existing industry relationships and clinical expertise to establish market leadership within the neurovascular space. This individual will work closely with healthcare providers and physician customers to ensure sales objectives and territory goals are achieved.


Success in this role requires the ability to build strong customer relationships that promote retention, loyalty, and long-term growth while providing exceptional technical and procedural support.


The Area Sales Director will be responsible for implementing strategic sales initiatives, identifying new business opportunities, supporting physician education, and driving adoption of innovative neurovascular technologies across the assigned territory.


Territory Coverage

This role focuses primarily on:

  • Colorado
  • Utah
  • Montana

Travel throughout the territory is required.


Product Portfolio

Current products include advanced neurovascular access and catheter technologies supporting interventional stroke procedures and vascular access applications.

Experience successfully launching and growing adoption of new medical device technologies is strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, and healthcare stakeholders
  • Provide clinical and technical support during interventional procedures
  • Drive revenue growth within assigned territory while uncovering new business opportunities
  • Achieve quarterly sales quotas and territory objectives
  • Support onboarding of new accounts and VAC approval processes
  • Deliver physician education and product training programs
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer utilization patterns
  • Prepare and maintain strategic account profiles and business plans
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support product launches and territory expansion
  • Submit timely sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates
  • Promote customer retention and loyalty through exceptional service and responsiveness


Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of medical device sales experience within a regulated healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated history of sales success and quota attainment
  • Experience supporting physician procedures and clinical case coverage
  • Strong understanding of hospital systems and physician customer expectations
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to master complex medical technologies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)


Preferred

  • Neurovascular or interventional sales experience
  • Existing relationships within stroke, neurovascular, or cath lab environments
  • Start-up or high-growth company experience
  • Experience launching new products into competitive markets
  • Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulations, Medical Device Regulations, and ISO 1348
