Role Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for achieving sales targets within the assigned territory by developing distribution networks, appointing distributors, and managing the sales team.

Key Responsibilities: Sales Execution

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for the assigned area.
  • Appoint and manage distributors and super stockists.
  • Ensure availability and visibility of products in the market.

Team Management

  • Guide and monitor Sales Officers/Territory Sales Executives.
  • Conduct joint field visits and ensure daily reporting discipline.

Market & Channel Management

  • Manage distributor claims, billing, and order flow.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and pricing.

Reporting

  • Daily reporting of market updates, route coverage, and sales status to ZSM/RSM.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication & negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage distribution networks
  • Good Excel and MIS reporting skills
  • Target- and result-oriented approach

Qualifications

  • Graduate (MBA Preferred)
  • 3–6 years of FMCG/food industry experience in channel sales
