Armed Residential Security Guard (Night Shift)

Job Overview

Private residential property in Southwest Ranches is seeking a professional, reliable, and highly observant Armed Security Guard for overnight protection of a gated estate. The guard will remain stationed outside the property entrance during the shift and must maintain an active presence throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of the premises and residents.

This position requires a disciplined individual with excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain alert and proactive during overnight hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight security coverage from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Remain stationed at the property entrance/gate area during the entire shift
• Conduct active surveillance of the surrounding area and monitor for suspicious or unusual activity
• Submit hourly status updates to the homeowner via text and/or designated reporting method
• Immediately report any suspicious persons, vehicles, disturbances, trespassing, or safety concerns
• Maintain a detailed nightly activity log including:
• Vehicle traffic
• Visitor interactions
• Unusual activity
• Patrol observations
• Incident reports
• Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services if necessary
• Ensure professional appearance and conduct at all times
• Perform periodic perimeter checks as needed while maintaining visibility at the entrance
• Deter unauthorized access through visible security presence
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding the property and residents

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D Security License (required)
• Valid Florida Class G Armed Security License (preferred)
• Prior experience in residential, executive protection, estate, or private security preferred
• Must own a reliable vehicle and remain on-site in vehicle during shift
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation
• Ability to stay alert and attentive during overnight hours
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to produce clear and professional incident reports
• Must have a smartphone with reliable service for updates and communication
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Must pass background check and verification of licenses
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
