Armed Security Officer - Full and Part Time

About the Role:

The Armed Guard plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of designated properties, personnel, and assets. This position requires vigilant monitoring of premises to prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches. The Armed Guard is responsible for responding promptly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security threats, ensuring minimal risk to life and property. Through the use of radio communication and control room coordination, the guard maintains constant situational awareness and facilitates timely information flow to relevant authorities. Ultimately, this role is essential in upholding a secure environment that supports operational continuity and protects valuable resources.

Shifts: 7:45am to 10:00pm

Varying shifts Day and/or Evenings

No Overnights

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Guard Card and Handgun Permit as required by State Law
• Proven experience in armed security guard duties, at least 2-3 years experience
• Proficiency in radio communication and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to operate access control and surveillance equipment effectively.
• Physical fitness to perform foot patrols and respond to incidents promptly.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to detect and deter suspicious activities or security violations.
• Operate and monitor access control systems to regulate entry and exit of personnel and vehicles.
• Maintain continuous communication with the control room and other security personnel via radio to report incidents and receive instructions.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies, including medical situations, fire alarms, and security breaches, following established protocols.
• Document and report all incidents, property damage, and security concerns accurately and promptly.
• Protect company assets and property by enforcing security policies and procedures.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying vulnerabilities and recommending improvements.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.

Security guard expertise and physical security knowledge enable the guard to effectively patrol and secure premises, preventing unauthorized access and potential threats.
