Art Dept - Digital Image Assistant (Day Shift, April-June)

Island Photography is hiring dependable, tech-savvy team members to join our Graduation Image Team during our busiest season of the year. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys structured workflows, steady productivity, and behind-the-scenes creative production.

The Basics

• Pay: Starting at $17.50/hr
• Shifts Available:
• 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Hours: 20–40 hrs/week
• Moin-Fri, Weekend hours available
• Location: In-person, Port Washington, NY (10-minute walk from LIRR)
• Season: April–early July

⚠ Must be available:
May 15–22 and June 25–28 (our peak busy dates)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Importing and organizing memory cards
• Managing large volumes of digital image files
• Batch editing and cropping in image editing software
• Retouching photos in Photoshop
• Assisting with customer retouch requests
• Handling digital storage, transfers, and backups

What We’re Looking For

• Photoshop CC experience (retouching, cropping, batch workflows)
• Comfortable working with SD cards, file systems, and digital storage
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Consistent availability during peak season

Bonus points if you have:

• Photography or graphic design background
• Computer/IT experience
• Strong general computer troubleshooting skills
