Art Director

SPARK is searching for an Art Director to concept and refine executions for campaigns driven by brand strategy. Our Art Directors’ mission is to elevate our work by exploring new media, reinventing old ones, and using insights to make people stop. From entire subway stations to a card with a popsicle, there are plenty of opportunities to bring a new perspective to our visual craft.


The Role
:

Creative Development

  • Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to concept and develop multi-channel campaigns, brand identities and visual systems
  • Lead the visual execution of projects, ensuring designs are aligned with client objectives, SPARK’s standards and brand truths
  • Generate bold, original ideas that balance creativity with functionality with measurable outcomes
  • Actively contribute in brainstorming sessions, pushing boundaries while staying grounded in strategy

Execution

  • Elevate projects by building upon initial concept and exploring new approaches
  • Take ownership of all visual outputs, ensuring high-quality design across branding, digital, print and more.
  • Oversee and lead photo shoots, video productions, and other creative executions to ensure consistency with visual vision
  • Review and refine work to meet project objectives and maintain the integrity of the creative concept
  • Apply careful consideration and attention to detail to ensure your files are on time, on brand and in spec.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with Copywriters to develop cohesive concepts and campaigns that align with brand messaging
  • Share ideas and opinions internally, participate in client presentations.
  • Foster collaboration with the broader creative team and cross-departmentally to deliver cohesive and effective campaigns

Team Support

  • Maintain a positive, team oriented environment that encourages collaboration and innovation
  • Support the Creative Director in ensuring SPARK’s creative output is consistently excellent and strategically aligned

  • Strong communication skills - able to articulate your vision to clients and team members with clarity and confidence
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to give and receive feedback constructively, always striving for better outcomes
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines

Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience in a similar role at an in-house, brand or advertising agency
  • Award-winning portfolio with Regional and National clients in a variety of media including TV, OOH, and digital and brand experience
  • Experience with AI and how to create efficiencies in Creative work
  • Video Editing experience is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of design principles for type, shape, color, and photography
  • Expert file and presentation prep
  • Expert of text editor programs (Word, Pages, Keynote)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (AI, ID, PS)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or similar
