NgageContent is seeking a new Art Director to join our web design and development team.
This is a full-time, salaried position. No offense to freelancers or contractors, but we’re only open to hiring a full-time employee for this role.
This full-time, remote role offers pay of $70,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience. It also comes with an available Health Reimbursement Arrangement, a 401(k) match, a quarterly bonus structure that nets most employees about $1,500 per year, and 10 paid holidays (including a floating holiday, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve).

Responsibilities
Creative Leadership & Vision
- Own and define the visual and creative direction for the agency across all digital touchpoints
- Lead design from concept through execution for web, digital products, branding, and other marketing initiatives
- Establish and maintain design standards, systems, and best practices across the organization
- Ensure consistency and quality across multiple projects and clients
Project & Client Ownership
- Translate client goals and business requirements into compelling visual solutions
- Present creative concepts and design rationale to clients and stakeholders
- Balance creativity with usability, accessibility, and performance considerations
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor, guide, and review work from designers and other creatives
- Collaborate closely with designers, developers, account managers, and strategists
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to elevate team output
- Help shape workflows and improve design processes across the agency
Hands-On Design
- Design and art direct layouts, interfaces, and visual systems
- Create and oversee high-quality designs, prototypes, and style guides
- Ensure designs are production-ready and align with development constraints
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in digital design, with experience in an agency or fast-paced environment
- Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership-level design work across web, digital products, and branding
- Proven ability to own projects end-to-end and lead creative direction
- Expert knowledge of design tools such as Figma, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Knowledge of marketing tools like MailChimp, HubSpot, etc.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, responsive design, and modern web standards
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience managing or mentoring designers
- Experience collaborating closely with development teams
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance considerations
