Art Inquiry / Graphic Design

JOB SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for providing professional customer service and offering technical advice for emailed art while creating Virtual mock-ups in a fast-paced environment. Graphic Designer should be experienced in delivering creative ideas while maintaining customer’s identity brand to customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide professional customer service for emailed art or other customer requests, as needed.

2. Provide Virtual Specs and creative art designs for customers, Sales Reps, and upper management.

3. Download and check customers’ emailed art files and note any art issues or incorrect, unacceptable applications. Look up the order in SAP and put emails into the Open Esker folder.

4. Save emails in Archive and Art in the Email Art Server for processing.

5. Assist co-workers in all departments daily, in a positive manner.

6. Complete any new or ongoing training programs, as required.

7. Inform manager of any applicable revisions to company or departmental policies and procedures.

8. Work on any related duties or special projects, as assigned by management. This can include but not limited to Production, Warehouse, Inspection, Sales Reps., Sample department, Cross training/Shadowing in different departments and any additional projects throughout the year. Prior notification will be given if production attire is required.

9. Work overtime when requested by management.

10. Assist manager with special art requests when needed.

11. Take priority on requests from department managers.

12. Work with team members on problems and solutions.

13. Assist manager in handling Art Inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

14. Assist sales support with art needed for customers or internal projects.

15. Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers and internal staff.

16. Digitally draw, re-create, re-touch, size, color-manage, layout, design and/or typography as necessary.

17. Processing art files for print production in any of Bag Makers print processes.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Download and forward all quote requests, sample requests and inquiries, etc., to appropriate departments. Assist shorthanded departments as needed. Provide friendly, professional customer service.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Completion of at least two (2) years of college level courses concentrated in production graphic arts, design and layout, desktop publishing, or closely related coursework from an accredited college or university. Familiarity with email programs and how to best transmit graphic files. Experience with various electronic graphic art formats, in both Mac and PC. Mid-level experience with Adobe Creative Cloud graphic programs. Ability to use Microsoft Office and the internet to retrieve graphic files. Highly developed artistic and creative skills.

Eligible for promotion to various positions within the Art Department, and throughout the company depending upon individual skills and qualifications.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

2. Ability to work with a variety of skilled/unskilled, professional and administrative personnel.

3. Knowledge of office administrations, phone, computers and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to multi-task, set priorities and balance departmental, company and customer needs.

5. Advanced computer skills using an Intel/ Mac running OS 15.6 Sequoia or higher.

6. Advanced knowledge of color in a print production environment and all printing processes (CMYK, PMS, Spot, digital, RGB).

7. Thorough understanding of print technology including artwork creation and preparation for CMYK and Spot Color output.

8. Intermediate skills in using email programs and font management programs.

9. Advanced skills in Adobe CC Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro, with emphasis on drawing, tracing, design, layout, typograph, and color management; Microsoft Office for Mac (Word, Excel, & Power Point);

10. Fast and detail oriented with a good design sense.

11. Works quickly and accurately to meet multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
