Art Instructor

Duties

  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels, incorporating various art forms such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, theater, ballet, sewing, and culinary arts.
  • Deliver engaging classroom instruction that promotes active participation and nurtures individual creativity.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to artistic exploration.
  • Guide students through projects that enhance their technical skills while encouraging personal expression and experimentation.
  • Incorporate curriculum development strategies that align with educational standards and foster growth in childhood development, early childhood education, and special education settings.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their techniques and confidence.
  • Maintain organized records of student progress, attendance, and lesson plans to ensure smooth classroom operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in teaching or tutoring art or related creative disciplines such as photography, theater, ballet, sewing, or culinary arts.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage students of various ages and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for early childhood education, preschool experience, or adult education programs.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques to foster respectful and productive classroom environments.
  • Ability to plan lessons that incorporate childhood development principles and accommodate special education needs when applicable.
  • Experience working with children or students with diverse learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Skills in lesson planning across multiple art forms including dancing, sewing, culinary arts, theater arts, and visual arts are preferred.
