Art Teacher

An Art Teacher is responsible for developing students’ interest, skills, and creativity in visual arts. The role involves planning and delivering engaging art lessons, fostering artistic expression, and helping students explore various techniques, materials, and art history while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured art lessons aligned with curriculum standards
• Teach various art techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art
• Introduce students to art history, famous artists, and cultural art forms
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking
• Prepare lesson materials and maintain art supplies and equipment
• Organize art exhibitions, competitions, and school displays
• Assess and evaluate student progress through projects and portfolios
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring classroom environment
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff for interdisciplinary projects
• Communicate effectively with parents about student progress

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or related field
• Teaching certification/license (as required by local regulations)
• Strong knowledge of art techniques and art history
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Creativity, patience, and passion for teaching

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Art Education or Fine Arts
• Experience teaching at elementary, middle, or high school level
• Experience with digital art tools and design software
• Portfolio showcasing personal and/or student artwork
