Middle School Art Teacher
Campus Principal / Director of Fine Arts
Provide high-quality visual arts instruction to middle school students that supports the school’s instructional goals and fosters artistic growth, creativity, and standards-based learning.

Instruction & Curriculum
-
Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum frameworks.

Teach a variety of visual art disciplines (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic design) appropriate for middle school learners.

Integrate art history, cultural relevance, and art critique into daily instruction.

Adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs and English language learners.

Classroom Environment

Establish and maintain a safe, organized, positive, and respectful learning environment.

Manage classroom materials, equipment, and supplies responsibly.

Promote proper use and care of all art materials.

Assessment & Student Progress

Monitor, assess, and document student achievement consistent with district grading policies.

Provide timely feedback, grades, and constructive critiques.

Maintain accurate records of attendance and academic performance.

Professional Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to support student learning and school initiatives.

Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff about student progress and classroom activities.

Exhibitions & Events
-
Organize and facilitate art displays, exhibitions, and curricular events to showcase student work.

Support participation in district or community art events as required.

Professional Growth

Participate in professional development activities and remain current in art education trends and instructional strategies.

Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.

Valid Texas teaching certificate with Art EC-12 (or Middle School) endorsement.

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate art techniques, materials, and safety practices.

Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Experience teaching art at the middle school level.

Familiarity with integrating technology into arts instruction.

Experience coordinating student art exhibitions or related extracurricular activities.
-
On-campus classroom environment with regular school day hours and occasional evening or weekend events.

Moderate physical requirements, including standing, moving materials, and demonstrating art techniques.
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policies and procedures.
