Bay Terrace Art Center is a creative learning space located in Bayside, NY, dedicated to nurturing the artistic and emotional growth of children and youth. Our mission is to provide a supportive, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every student——can express themselves freely through art.
We believe in the power of creativity to build confidence, improve focus, and foster meaningful connections. Our art programs encourage exploration across various media such as drawing, painting, sculpture, wire, and mixed media projects.
We are currently seeking Art Therapists or Art Teachers who are passionate about working with childrens. Ideal candidates should have:

Our work environment includes:
Duties:
- Plan and deliver art lessons to students of various ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement creative and engaging curriculum that aligns with educational standards
- Provide instruction in various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression
- Assist students in developing their artistic skills and techniques through individualized instruction and feedback
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and activities
- Utilize technology and digital tools to enhance art instruction and student learning
- Organize and display student artwork in exhibitions or showcases
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs such as autism or other learning challenges
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies to create a positive classroom environment
- Strong artistic skills and knowledge of various art techniques and mediums
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Teaching certification or licensure in Art Education (state-specific requirements may apply)
- Experience in education administration, tutoring, or library services is a plus
- Familiarity with early intervention strategies for young learners is beneficial
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
