AS400

We are seeking an experienced Senior AS400 Engineer to join the DevOps team. The role focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and supporting AS400 (IBM i) applications while ensuring business continuity and operational stability. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RPG development, production support, DevOps practices, and legacy system modernization.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Maintenance

• Maintain, enhance, and support existing AS400 (IBM i) applications.
• Develop fixes and new enhancements for legacy applications.
• Perform code analysis, debugging, and application optimization.
• Ensure high application availability and business continuity.

Production Support

• Perform incident triage, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues.
• Manage ITSM tickets while meeting SLA, MTTR, and incident reduction targets.
• Support batch jobs, job scheduling, and system monitoring.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Act as Team Lead whenever required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

Integration & Legacy Systems

• Support integrations between AS400 and enterprise systems such as SAP, POS, and logistics platforms.
• Analyze APIs, data flows, and system dependencies.
• Work with custom-built ERP and legacy applications.

Modernization & DevOps

• Support AS400 modernization initiatives and SAP S/4HANA migration programs.
• Contribute to DevSecOps initiatives and improve deployment processes.
• Understand coexistence strategies during AS400 to SAP transitions.
• Support monitoring, observability, CI/CD, and release management practices.
