Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Asphalt Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing asphalt paving and milling equipment, including all types of asphalt pavers, material transfer vehicles (MTVs), cold planers (mills), and supporting heavy equipment and Class 8 trucks. This role is production-critical and supports active paving and milling operations by minimizing downtime and protecting job schedules.

Desired Experience / Skills

· Strong safety mindset and adherence to jobsite and DOT safety standards

· 5+ years of heavy equipment repair experience (asphalt paving/milling preferred)

· Experience with all types of asphalt pavers (tracked and wheeled)

· Experience with cold planers / asphalt milling machines

· Knowledge of screed systems, conveyors, augers, grade & slope control systems

· Diesel engine diagnostics and rebuild experience (Cummins, John Deere, Caterpillar preferred)

· Hydraulic system troubleshooting (pumps, motors, valves, manifolds)

· Electrical diagnostics including CAN bus systems and sensors

· DPF and emissions system diagnostics and repair

· Track system and undercarriage repair

· Welding and light fabrication skills preferred

· Valid Driver's License

Key Responsibilities

· Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair asphalt pavers, mills, MTVs, rollers, and support equipment

· Diagnose screed heating, material flow, and feed system failures

· Troubleshoot milling depth control systems and drum drive systems

· Repair hydraulic drive systems and control valves

· Maintain conveyor systems, chains, bearings, and wear components

· Respond to jobsite breakdowns to minimize production downtime

· Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services

· Replace wear components including cutting teeth, drum parts, augers, chains, and screed plates

· Coordinate with superintendents and foremen to prioritize production-critical repairs

· Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and service truck inventory

· Follow all company safety policies and procedures
