Asphalt Laborer

Position Overview

A well-established regional pavement maintenance company is seeking motivated and dependable Asphalt Laborers to join our sealcoating and surface restoration team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in hands-on outdoor work, pays attention to detail, and wants to grow with a company that values craftsmanship, reliability, and professionalism.

The Asphalt Laborer will work closely with crew leaders on residential, commercial, and industrial projects involving surface preparation, asphalt repair, crack filling, sealcoating, and line striping. This is a physically demanding position that requires teamwork, focus, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Power wash, sweep, and blow asphalt surfaces to remove dirt, debris, and vegetation before coating or repair.
• Sealcoating Application: Assist with mixing, transporting, and applying sealcoat using brushes, squeegees, or spray equipment to ensure a uniform, high-quality finish.
• Crack Filling & Patching: Prepare and fill cracks, potholes, and other imperfections in asphalt surfaces using appropriate tools and materials.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand and power tools such as blowers, pressure washers, squeegees, sprayers, tampers, and compactors.
• Material Handling: Load and unload sealant, sand, and other materials; maintain clean, organized trucks and equipment.
• Site Safety: Set up cones, barricades, and warning signs; follow all company and DOT safety procedures on and off the job site.
• Maintenance & Clean-Up: Maintain tools and equipment, assist with end-of-day cleaning, and ensure job sites are left in excellent condition.
• Teamwork & Reliability: Communicate clearly with foremen and crew members, arrive on time daily, and represent the company with professionalism and respect.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from job sites (CDL a plus).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift 50+ pounds regularly.
• Comfortable with long hours, weekend work, and early start times during the busy season.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; prior asphalt, construction, or landscaping experience preferred but not required.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Must follow all safety procedures and wear proper protective equipment.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
