Asphalt Milling Operators

Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and detail-oriented Asphalt Milling Operators to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to efficiently remove and prepare asphalt surfaces for paving projects. Your expertise will help ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality roadways and infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt milling machines and other heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, loaders, sweeper, milling head, and dump trucks to remove existing pavement efficiently.
• Prepare work zones by setting up safety barriers, signage, and ensuring proper site conditions before milling begins.
• Collaborate with paving crews to ensure seamless transition from milling to paving operations, maintaining project timelines.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with the installation of asphalt as needed.
• Support other construction activities including site cleanup and sod as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members.

Skills

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as asphalt milling machines, skid steers, excavators, loaders, sweeper, milling head, and dump trucks.
• Mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and identify equipment issues quickly.
• Familiarity with construction site procedures including removals, patching, milling, and asphalt laydown.
• Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely in compliance with licensing requirements.
• Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices.
• Experience with asphalt laydown by machine and or by hand is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
