Asphalt Plant Operator/Manager

Capital Materials, Paving & Construction is expanding quickly and looking for experienced Asphalt Plant Operators looking to relocate to the Midwest with a growing company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a hot mix asphalt plant efficiently to obtain all production goals
• Move raw aggregate and liquid asphalt materials through the mixing drum to be stored in silos until ready for delivery to the job sites or to be loaded into trucks
• Operate the plant computer systems
• Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure a quality mix is being produced
• Assist the foreman and superintendents with material ordering, scheduling, inventory management, and record keeping
• Effectively communicate with road crews, drivers, dispatchers, and external customers
• Schedule and perform daily/weekly/monthly/annual plant maintenance
• Order and maintain inventory of plant parts, grease, asphalt oil
• Supervise and set expectations for plant employees
• Supervise daily activities and ensure safety policies are being followed at the plant
• Adhere to OSHA rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• General knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment
• General knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Welding ability is preferred but not required
• 5+ years of experience operating a hot mix asphalt plant is preferred
• Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record.
• Must have a positive attitude and work well with others when under pressure
• Must be able to work with and manage a team on all types of projects
• Lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Work overtime, nights, weekends, as needed
• Reliable transportation
• Willing to travel/work out of town, as needed
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
