Summary
The Assay Lab Technician will play a crucial role in the development and testing of Zepto's cutting-edge diagnostic platforms. This position involves preparing and testing reagents, documenting work meticulously, evaluating data, and supporting scientific presentations. The technician will assist the Assay Development Team in testing virology, fungology, mycology, and bacteriology specimens. The ideal candidate will possess two years of industry experience, strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. This position requires a flexible schedule, with hours that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on project timelines and testing requirements.
Essential Duties
- Conduct rigorous testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic assay platforms.
- Prepare and validate reagents required for assay procedures.
- Accurately record experimental procedures, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
- Analyze experimental data, compile findings, and assist in the preparation of technical reports and scientific presentations.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support ongoing research and development projects.
- Support assay development timelines by adjusting work hours as needed to accommodate experiment schedules, time-sensitive testing, or project deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- BS/BA in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of industry-related experience.
- Strong understanding of genetics and nucleic acid biomarkers.
- Proven experience in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
- Demonstrated experience in collaboration with senior and junior scientists, engineers, chemists, and biologists.

Job Type
- Pay Range: $18–$22 per hour. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including experience, skills, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
- Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday; however, this role requires flexibility based on business and laboratory needs. Work hours may vary and can include daytime, evening, and occasional weekend shifts. Schedules will be communicated in advance whenever possible.

- Some traveling may be required.
