General Description of Job: This person is responsible for assisting lead technicians & personnel in the manufacturing of panel box units, relay racks and other duties as may be assigned. The technician may be moved from different departments within the production facility as workloads require. The main job is to perform tasks as requested, work alongside and under the direction of lead technicians, and to gain knowledge and the necessary skills to move up to a lead technician. These skills include, but are not limited to, reading and understanding basic drawings/schematics, use of hand and power tools, and following company procedures on the assembly of control panels and relay racks.
- Assist lead technician with the assigned projects including assembling of parts and components, position, align and fasten units to assembles, subassemblies or frames using hand and power tools.

Drill, tab, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill press and portable power drills.

Cut and connect cables and/or wires to PLC cards, terminal blocks, power supplies, relay blocks and other components as directed and according to schematic specifications.

Label wires and components as well as install tags and associated labels on the panel boxes. Install company name plates and any identification labels and/or tags including UL labels as directed and according to schematic specifications.

Cut and install wire way and covers, tubing and any other items associated with the project as directed by senior technician and according to schematic specifications

Measure parts to determine tolerances, using measuring instruments such as tape measure, ruler, level, micrometers, and calipers.

Aid with inspecting, testing, point to point, adjusting and correcting issues found in testing to ensure units meet specifications, tolerances and customer requirements.

Study and learn to read schematics in order to diagnose issues with drawings and functionality of the panels. Study and learn the functionality of components in order to better understand how the unit works with the help of the senior technician or project manager.

Assist in the final stages of the project including but not limited to, heat shrinking labels, pictures, placement of documentation, cleanup of the project including sweeping, vacuuming and taking out trash.
