Assembly Technician and Fulfilment Specialist

Location: Seattle, WA (Ballard)

Company: ARO Espresso

The Vibe: Low-stress, high-precision, small-team environment.

About the Role

ARO Espresso is a young, growing design and manufacturing business. We are a two-person team (the owner, Nate, and our current technician, Kyle) looking for a core third member to join our shop in Ballard.

Our product line is a hybrid. About half of what we sell is manufactured entirely in-house using additive manufacturing (3D printing), while the other half is sourced from trusted global suppliers. A major part of this role involves the precision assembly of these two worlds. You will be integrating our custom-printed parts with sourced components to create a finished, high-end product.

The Work Environment

We offer a relaxed atmosphere with flexible hours and casual attire. We are a "relaxed" shop, but we are not a "careless" shop. Because our products are used by coffee enthusiasts who require aesthetics and function, the work requires extreme attention to detail.

The Ideal Candidate

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a quiet, focused workday but has "thick skin" regarding their work.

  • Detail Obsessed: You notice the smallest layer-line flaw in a 3D print or a tiny scratch on a sourced metal component.
  • Feedback-Friendly: We utilize multiple layers of quality control. You must be comfortable with a "second pair of eyes" checking your work daily and providing direct, critical feedback.
  • Assembly Logic: You enjoy the puzzle of combining different materials and parts into a perfect final assembly.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hybrid Assembly: Assemble products by combining in-house 3D-printed parts with sourced global components using hand tools and jigs.
  • Rigorous Inspection: Perform quality control on both incoming sourced parts and our own manufactured parts before assembly.
  • Manufacturing Support: Assist in setting up, running, and troubleshooting 3D printers and processing finished parts.
  • Fulfillment: Package finished products with high care to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
  • Logistics: Utilize shipping applications to label packages and handle drop-offs at local providers (USPS, UPS, FedEx).

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or a related shop field is preferred.
  • Technical Skill: Proficiency with light power tools and a natural mechanical aptitude.
  • Precision: Proven ability to follow complex, multi-step instructions with 100% accuracy.
  • Communication: Ability to receive critical feedback and implement changes immediately without ego.
  • Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed in a shop setting.

Why Join ARO Espresso?

We offer competitive pay in a low-stress environment where employee happiness is a top priority. This is a unique opportunity to be a core member of a small, rapidly growing business and learn the cutting-edge world of additive manufacturing, product assembly, and ecommerce.
