Purpose
The Asset Management Engineer is responsible for enhancing the reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) of Metro assets through performance monitoring, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role supports data-driven decision-making by managing reliability processes, tracking asset performance, and ensuring effective implementation of corrective actions. Its primary objective is to optimize asset lifecycle performance, improve operational efficiency, and minimize service disruptions.
Job Description

Monitor and analyze reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) performance across Metro assets.

Manage and maintain the FRACAS process and database to support reliability improvement and root cause investigations.

Conduct failure analysis and identify recurring issues, trends, and opportunities for performance enhancement.

Coordinate and track corrective actions arising from failure investigations and review boards.
-
Support the Defect Notification (DNF) process during the Defect Liability Period (DLP), ensuring timely resolution of defects.

Analyze operational event logs and maintenance work orders to improve asset performance and maintenance effectiveness.

Prepare reliability reports, performance dashboards, and technical presentations for management and stakeholders.

Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Engineering teams to support asset management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Accountability Areas

Reliability and Performance Monitoring:
Monitor RAM metrics and performance indicators to improve asset reliability and operational availability.

Failure Analysis and Root Cause Investigation:
Identify failure trends and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve system performance.

FRACAS Management:
Maintain an accurate and effective FRACAS process to support data-driven asset management decisions.

Defect Management:
Coordinate defect tracking and resolution activities during the Defect Liability Period.

Corrective Action Management:
Ensure timely implementation, monitoring, and closure of corrective actions arising from investigations and reviews.

Data Quality and Reporting:
Maintain integrity of performance data and provide accurate reports, dashboards, and performance insights.

Asset Performance Improvement:
Support initiatives that enhance asset lifecycle performance, maintenance effectiveness, and operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Coordination:
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and technical teams to achieve reliability and performance objectives.

Knowledge and Experience
-
Minimum 3 years of experience in asset management, reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or operational performance environments.

Experience within rail, metro, transportation, infrastructure, utilities, or industrial operations is preferred.

Working knowledge of Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) principles and performance metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, MACMT, and MKBF.

Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles and maintenance optimization methodologies.

Experience with FRACAS processes, failure reporting systems, and corrective action management.

Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Experience analyzing maintenance work orders, operational logs, and asset performance data.

Understanding of asset lifecycle management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Knowledge of ISO 55000 Asset Management principles and frameworks is advantageous.
Education and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) (Preferred).

Certification or formal training in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FRACAS, or ISO 55001 Asset Management (Preferred).
