About the Role

Join Swiss Re’s Investment Transaction Management (ITM) team and gain hands-on experience supporting the full lifecycle of investment operations. You’ll work with a dynamic group of professionals to ensure accurate and timely processing of trades, payments, and derivatives across Swiss Re’s global portfolios.

This internship offers exposure to a wide range of asset classes and trading desks, including Asset Management, Treasury (Legacy), Financial Markets & In-Force Management, ECM/Weather, Insurance Linked Securities, and Direct Investments. You’ll learn how operational workflows connect to broader investment strategies and contribute to projects that drive efficiency and innovation.

At the end of the internship, you’ll present your insights and recommendations to senior leaders, offering an opportunity to make a real impact on how we work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support trade lifecycle activities including trade creation, confirmation, settlement, and payment
  • Assist with reconciliations and validation of securities and cash flows
  • Collaborate with custodians, brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing
  • Document operational workflows and system interactions
  • Contribute to projects focused on process optimization and system enhancements
  • Present findings and improvement recommendations to management

About You

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Interest in investment operations, financial markets, and transaction processing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus

The internship base salary will be $20-$30 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, projected graduation year and/or highest degree held.
