Asset Management Specialist(s) - Water & Wastewater - ERP

About the Opportunity

In this role, you'll help shape and implement asset management and maintenance strategies across water, wastewater and utility operations. You'll work closely with key clients to deliver asset condition assessments, enhance maintenance practices, develop AM/O&M frameworks, and support business development and training initiatives.

You'll also play a key part in delivering and strengthening our OMFS offering, including:

  • Leading consulting teams and consistently exceeding client expectations.
  • Supporting the development of digital and mobility applications.
  • Contributing to the marketing and evolution of OMFS service offerings and training solutions.
  • Maintaining a billable utilisation of 80-85%.
  • Conducting project follow up reviews to ensure client satisfaction.

You'll be the go to expert working closely with our key clients to design and implement asset management strategies that make a real difference. From water and wastewater systems to complex built environments, your work will ensure essential services run smoothly, sustainably, and smartly. You'll collaborate with a passionate team of professionals across APACME, tapping into global best practices while tailoring solutions to local needs.

This role offers a blend of client office and site work, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and independent delivery. Flexibility to travel is required to meet project and client needs.

Here's What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you will bring a solid academic background in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, and practical experience in water and wastewater asset management and the development and implementation of maintenance strategies.

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering (additional Asset Management or Maintenance certification highly beneficial).
  • 8 10+ years' experience in Asset Management and maintenance strategy development and implementation.
  • Experience in asset maintenance, with some exposure to maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Strong exposure to water, wastewater and utility assets, or direct experience working within an O&M organisation.
  • Good understanding of sewerage networks and related assets.
  • Experience of strategic and business planning in an asset driven business.
  • Experience of asset management and related information systems.
  • Ability to direct and manage a multi disciplinary team.
  • Exposure to ERP systems - GIS, Maximo, Oracle and management of asset data within these systems.
  • Proven ability to:
    • Develop short and long term maintenance strategies aligned with CAPEX and OPEX forecasts.
    • Lead physical asset condition assessments using best practice methodologies.
    • Analyse complex O&M data sets to identify trends and performance insights.
    • Prepare AM/Maintenance reports and cost/staffing estimates.
    • Support client engagement, proposal development and business growth.
  • Previous experience working with Middle East clients and projects.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, written and verbal communication skills (English professional/business level).
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, operators, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team, as well as independently on client sites or remotely.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • A blend of consultancy and industry experience.
  • Reliability and maintainability improvement programs (e.g., RCM, Root Cause Analysis, FMECA).
  • Asset condition and criticality assessment practices, including remaining life and decay forecasting.
  • Operational Readiness experience.
  • AM and maintenance training frameworks and delivery.
  • Performance management systems and benchmarking.
  • Business improvement processes and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IIMM processes and practices.
  • Experience using or implementing CMMS/EAM systems.
  • Participation in asset management or O&M industry bodies, committees or professional groups.
  • PPP or large DBO project experience in the ME region.
  • International experience delivering asset management solutions.
Other Information

Location: Based in Abu Dhabi (client site office secondment). Please note: Time on client sites will be required depending on project demands. Work may involve supporting OMFS digital and mobility solutions, solution focused maintenance initiatives and the application of OMFS tools at client facilities.

Travel: Flexibility to travel for project delivery, client engagement and key business requirements.
