Assignment Editor

We are a dynamic daily newspaper based in the heart of New York City, seeking an experienced and dedicated Assignment Editor to join our team.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
• At least five years' experience at a newspaper, website, or magazine.
• Demonstrated ability to write and edit stories.
• Deep understanding of China and China-US relations.
• Experience working or living in China is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and writing Chinese is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign stories to editorial staff to ensure daily publication.
• Edit stories to maintain high-quality journalism.
• React immediately to breaking news and requests.
• Build teams and streamline editorial processes.
• Plan ahead for stories and future events.
• Collaborate with the new media team and edit scripts for video production.
• Work five days a week in a fast-paced environment.
