Assignment Editor/Digital Content Creator
This person will:
- Manage the logistics of news coverage
- Prepare and publish multi-media content on our digital platforms including web, social, and app
- Generate hard news enterprise story ideas and plan for future coverage
- Organize incoming news content (news wires, police radios, news releases, news tips, story ideas from inside the station)
- Communicate with contacts to gather facts and schedule interviews
- Work cooperatively with the news team
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Have the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-platform, research-driven newsroom
- Possess critical thinking skills, resourcefulness and be detail oriented
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication
- Be proficient in Content Management Systems and digital publishing tools
- Understand editorial news judgment
Pay Range: $42k-$45k. Based on experience.
Spanish language skills are preferred.
