The Assistant Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager / Commercial Loan Administrator strengthens the Bank’s commercial lending function by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all stages of the credit process. Through diligent administrative support, thorough credit preparation, and proactive relationship management, this role enhances portfolio quality, supports sound credit decisions, and contributes to the Bank’s risk management framework. By maintaining organized systems, facilitating smooth loan operations, and delivering exceptional service to both lenders and customers, the position directly supports the growth, stability, and reputation of the Bank’s commercial lending portfolio.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager / Commercial Loan Administrator provides comprehensive support to Commercial Loan Officers and commercial loan customers. This position assists in the development, servicing, and management of commercial loan relationships in accordance with the Bank’s Loan Policy. Responsibilities include administrative support, document preparation, customer assistance, credit-related tasks, and maintaining confidential information while ensuring efficient departmental operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES

Understand and adhere to the HNB Loan Policy.

Assist personnel with administrative responsibilities, including ordering flood certifications, title searches, credit reports, income and deposit verifications, and preparing correspondence.

Conduct credit investigations and analyze credit information related to loan requests.

Provide support to up to three Commercial Loan Officers, ensuring high-quality servicing of commercial credit relationships.

Assist in preparing presentations for Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors meetings.

Maintain strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Work effectively in a fast-paced environment; maintain confidentiality and attention to detail.

Assist in preparing loan documents and coordinating loan closings with Loan Processing and attorney offices.

Order supplies for the commercial lending area as needed.

Participate in joint calls with lending personnel to cross-promote bank products.

Establish and maintain processes, policies, and procedures to meet due diligence requirements for government agency lending programs.

Serve as secretary for monthly loan and credit meetings and maintain accurate minutes.

Prepare various reports for commercial lenders as needed.

Ensure current financial statements are obtained in a timely manner.

Gather relevant financial information from multiple sources for loan requests.

Attend loan closings when necessary.

Assist commercial lenders and loan review personnel in setting up and maintaining Credit File Memos for loan relationships graded “5” or under.

Identify opportunities and refer bank products including HNB Financial Services, Trust, deposits, home equities, and mortgages.

Develop strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills as the position progresses.

Make recommendations to the Chief Lending Officer regarding departmental improvements when applicable.

Ensure the Loan Policy Manual and departmental operations manual remain current.

Participate in community affairs to enhance the bank’s visibility and support new business opportunities.

Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with equivalent related banking experience.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
