About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Assistant Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial records. The role involves handling site-level payments, vendor payments, payroll processing, statutory compliances, and coordination with auditors and internal teams. Experience in government projects and strong working knowledge of Tally and Excel will be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Daily Operations
- Maintain day-to-day accounting activities including purchase entries, sales entries, expense booking, and journal vouchers.
- Record and monitor daily site payments, petty cash transactions, and cash flow updates.
- Prepare and update monthly cash flow statements and provision entries.
- Perform Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) on a regular basis.
Payments & Vendor Management
- Process vendor and service provider payments after verifying supporting documents and approvals.
- Verify Purchase Orders, quotations, and supplier documents before processing bills.
- Monitor outstanding balances of debtors and creditors, prepare aging reports, and assist in follow-ups for over-aged balances.
Payroll & Employee Records
- Assist in monthly payroll processing, salary preparation, and disbursement.
- Maintain manpower reports, joining and exit records, and monthly attendance data.
- Support calculation of payroll-related statutory deductions.
Compliance & Statutory Support
- Assist in filing and payment of GST (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, RCM) and support GST reconciliations (GSTR-2A/2B).
- Support TDS payments, quarterly returns (24Q, 26Q, 27Q), and related documentation.
- Assist in EPF & ESI filings, payments, and coordination during inspections.
- Support documentation for government projects as required by finance and audit teams.
Audit & Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors by preparing schedules, statements, and supporting documents.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing MIS reports and financial summaries for management review.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- Master’s degree (M.Com / MBA – Finance) is required.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Prior exposure to government projects will be an added advantage.
